Yvonne Gray

Yvonne has worked as a journalist, technical writer, editor, newspaper publisher, book publisher, graphic artist, and photographer during the past 30 years. Yvonne started her journalism career in 1973 at the New Bern, North Carolina Sun Journal newspaper, then moved on to work as writer, editor, photographer, graphic artist, and managing editor of several newspapers across the state. On several occasions she was recognized by the UPI and AP wire services for her feature writing and human interest articles and photographs that appeared in the Raleigh News & Observer, The Durham Herald, The Fayetteville Observer, The Sanford Herald, and other area newspapers. In 1981 she founded and published two weekly newspapers in the Raleigh area.

In 1985 she began a career as a technical writer,editor, and a technical documentation consultant. She is acknowledged internationally as an expert on telecommunication systems and network management software. She has designed, written, and edited more than 200 manuals and other publications--published in more than 40 languages--and served as project manager and consultant for IBM, Cisco, Lucent, Ericsson, Nortel, Sprint, MCI, SquareD, Bayer Pharmaceutical, and many other Futune 500 companies. She wrote many manuals for IBM's international network systems, such as VTAM, for clients such as NASA, The Federal Reserve System, and many foreign governments. For several years she was ranked number one on IBM's Top Ten Preferred Vendors list (independent contract employees) in the US.

She attended The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh, where she studied English, Journalism, and Literature.

Yvonne founded The Mouse Tamer Manuscript Services in 2002. She now assists authors around the world with preparing their books for publication. Her communication skills make it possible for her to assist her clients via e-mail and telephone.

Yvonne began her photography career in 1972. Over the years she has owned and operated several studios and promotional photography companies with up to 22 employees working in 22 states throughout the Eastern United States. She enjoys photographing nature scenes and wildlife, especially along the North Carolina Coast and the Outer Banks. Yvonne now has a line of greeting cards, featuring her photographs, available in NC Hallmark Card Company stores and Borders Book stores.
